US Operations & Business Development Support

Over the past 10 years we have continually expanded our presence in the United States and we are now actively seeking to establish a US based team.  The first part of this process was hiring a Country Head of US who is in charge of all business and relationship development within the US, and we are now looking for an Operations and Business Development Support, who has the skills to do a little bit of everything that we do at Steps.  

The position is an exciting and varied role which requires a range of skills including: Business Development, Project Management, Program Support, Market Research and more.  The ideal candidate will be very flexible, entrepreneurial, a self-starter, enjoy working collaboratively, well organized, comfortable with remote working and potential travel.  With this varied role one day you could be stuffing envelopes and the next day you could be meeting global heads of learning and development, and to be a success you will be supported by the Steps teams in London and Pune.

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage US Country Head’s contacts; establishing and building connections with them.
  • Generate you own business leads.
  • Use LinkedIn and social media to grow Steps brand recognition as well as networking.
  • Attend networking events.
  • Create and Manage a CRM System, keeping detailed records of client information (when contact or meetings took place etc.)
  • Attend client meetings, both new and established, and be able to talk about Steps’ approach to behavior change
  • Project Manage programs that are won in the US depending on the need and skill level; this would include:
  • - Managing budgets of programs
    - Managing quality of project based on the needs of the program
    - Reporting into the appropriate Steps Account Director or Global Account Director
    - Client Relationship Management
    - Have basic understanding of contracts
  • Design programs depending on need and skill level.
  • Conduct research for the purposes of creating content for programs and well as reporting on business growth and trends.
  • Act as Client Services Associate when needed and appropriate.  This would entail:
  • - Arranging all logistics for a program delivery
    - Liaising with the delivery team informing them of delivery location, client contact, travel info etc. 
    - Building the team based on the program needs
  • Support in strengthening the relationship with US Associates by:
  • - Holding monthly gatherings
    - Provide general updates via newsletters
  • Various administrative activities such as: 
  • - Calendar / Diary management
    - Event coordination
Ideally you would have the following:
  • A Bachelor or Master’s Degree
  • A history of building successful client relationships
  • Business development experience
  • A working knowledge of up-to-date learning and development subject matters
  • Adult learning and class room facilitation experience
  • Confidence with MS Office – including Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • You’d live in the Tri-State area.  (This is not necessary as we are open to speaking with people in other parts of the US as well.)

We are looking to fill the position as soon as possible,, with a view of employing someone on a full-time basis for 6 months.  After 6 months Steps will review the need for the position based on the needs of the business in the US.  We ideally want to make this a long term role, but we want to manage expectations at this stage.  The salary at this stage is to be confirmed.

Actor Facilitators (ongoing)

We have a wide and loyal base of Associate Actor-Facilitators, but we do hold auditions from time to time in order to meet talented people and fulfill specific skill requirements.

We would particularly welcome applications from Actor-Facilitators with a disability, as they are currently under-represented in the company.
Currently we are also seeking Actor-Facilitators that fit into any of the categories below:
  • Actors whose first language is not English
  • Actors originally from Russia, or fluent Russian speakers
  • Actors from India, with a base in or near a major Indian city
