Steps feature on XPertHR

Steps were approached by XPertHR, a unique online service providing indispensable information and support for HR professionals.

We wanted to create something timely and pertinent to the current climate, as well as drawing on our experience of delivering experiential learning to organisations large and small across the public and private sectors.  We determined that the delivery of difficult messages was a critical consideration for HR professionals, and Richard Wilkes, one of Steps' founder Directors, pieced together a Line Manager Briefing for XPertHR.

This Line Manager Briefing gives guidance on good practice when conducting difficult conversations, to give line managers the confidence to tackle challenging issues and to ensure the success of the conversation. It covers the importance of dealing with sensitive issues, preparation for and conduct during the conversation, and what should be done following the conversation to ensure a positive outcome.
