Simulation
What Is It?
A simulation is an extended exercise whereby the participants become immersed for a period of time in an environment that is designed to reflect their organisation and individual learning challenges. All the characters in a simulation are portrayed by Steps actor-facilitators.
How Does It Work?
The delegates are briefed and given a series of related tasks to perform – allowing them to test the boundaries of their knowledge and their own capabilities. Reflecting the culture of their work environment, the simulation will mirror challenges both for the individual and the team.
The simulation allows delegates to implement new learning and close the gap that sometimes exists between common practice and best practice. By removing the intricacies of their common work processes it allows the delegates to examine their behaviours more clearly.
A simulation is an ideal way for individuals and teams to challenge their perceived approach to skills and tasks and to examine issues such as:
- Change Management
- Leadership Skills
- Vision and Values - to help to make abstract ideas more concrete
- Team working
- Customer Service
- Compliance and Employment Law
The learning outcomes are facilitated by the Steps Team.
An effective simulation can run for a minimum of 2 hours, but can also run for a whole day or even a number of days.
