The Bribery Act: Surveying a new legal landscape...

Seminar date: Tuesday 29 May 2012
Time: 9.30 - 1pm
Venue: Central London

Have you been faced with challenges as a result of the Bribery Act?  Can you accept or offer a day on the golf course or tickets to a rugby match? What do you do if you are overseas, where business is sometimes conducted differently, and your client says “We just need a little bit more money to obtain consent”?

Steps and the RICS have partnered to develop a course that unpicks the behaviours and attitudes surrounding this new legislation.  By attending this course you will discover the various options that are open to you and learn how to deal with these different situations.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Gain familiarity with key aspects of the Bribery Act.
• Explore how the Bribery Act will work in practice - especially the ‘grey areas’.
• Encourage the development of an ethical basis for decision-making in order to navigate safely and with integrity the complexities of cultural difference and variations in expectations of what is acceptable practice.
• Maintain an ethical and legal perspective while under pressure to do otherwise

Half day course RICS Members £200 +VAT
(non members £250 +VAT)
