Jennie O’Reilly

Marketing and Business Development Director

Jennie is passionate about creative communication and has worked in marketing for over 15 years. She joined Steps in 2008, bringing with her a wealth of cross-sector experience in B2B and B2C marketing and communications gained in the UK and in Australia, where she lived and worked for a year. She is a graduate of Cardiff University and is now a qualified affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Jennie manages all global marketing and business development activity at Steps, supporting the team in creating inspiring content to raise awareness of the organisation and its impact, and working closely with the Account Directors and Country Heads on individual business development strategies. Jennie enjoys networking and developing strategic partnerships - taking every opportunity to enthuse about creative and social learning and development - a topic she is passionate about. She has recently taken a lead role in redefining Steps' brand proposition, redesigning the website and other marketing collateral, and developing an organisational Vision. She was invited to join the Management Board in 2016, to share insight and help shape business strategy.

Jennie works flexibly between London and Bristol, where she lives with her young family. When not working she loves going for long walks, singing choral music (or any kind of music, actually!), developing her baking skills and escaping on camping trips...

About Jennie O’Reilly

Best holiday/holiday recommendation?

Kenya – we spent our honeymoon there and it is a feast for the senses and the soul. A beautiful country, with wonderfully warm people, fabulous food and the most incredible sights. Make sure you do a traditional ‘sundowner’ – sunsets like you’ve never seen and firelight under a blanket of stars...

I love Mary Poppins. It’s my Christmas indulgence. I have nothing more to say about that and I can’t really justify why I love it so much – I just do. I live in hope that someday I will find chimneysweeps dancing across the London rooftops and get the chance to join in...

Desert Island Item?

Marmite. Can’t be without it. I took a huge jar in my backpack when I went travelling and I had instant popularity whenever I brought it out at the breakfast table!
